Avon View provides accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 81 people. At the time of our inspection there were 77 people using the service. The service provides care and support to older people, some of whom were living with dementia. The inspection was carried out between19 and 26 November 2025.
While the provider had checks and audits in place, these were not always used effectively to identify shortfalls and omissions. The registered manager and provider were responsive during the inspection and responded to shortfalls identified by introducing new governance systems.
Staff and some health and social care professionals told us the staffing level was not always adequate to meet people’s needs. The provider was exploring a new tool to calculate safe numbers of staff in the service as well as assessing and working with the team.
People’s medicines were managed safely. Accidents and incidents were analysed and trends and patterns identified to help prevent a recurrence. Staff understood people’s rights and how these should be met. People’s views and preferences were communicated and acted upon. Staff assessed people’s needs and preferences.
