Date of assessment: 3 August 2026 to 24 September 2026. Derby Office is a domiciliary care agency (DCA) registered to provide personal care, to older people and younger adults who maybe living with dementia, sensory impairment and or physical disability living in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal care and/or support with eating and drinking. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection 3 people were receiving personal care.

This is the first inspection for this service since registration.

The provider had systems in place to monitor the quality of the service. However, governance arrangements were not always effective in identifying and addressing areas requiring improvement. For example, a medicines care plan did not accurately reflect the support a person required with their medicines, increasing the risk that support may not be provided safely or consistently.

Care plans and risk assessments were in place and subject to review. However, risk assessments did not always provide clear guidance for staff on the actions required to mitigate identified risks, which could impact the consistency and safety of care delivery.

The registered manager was receptive to feedback provided during the inspection and responded promptly to the issues identified. They demonstrated a willingness to act on findings and took immediate steps to address concerns and clarify information where required, supporting improvements to the quality and safety of the service.

Infection prevention and control measures were implemented effectively. This helped to protect people from the risk of avoidable harm associated with infections.

The registered manager promoted a positive and supportive culture. Staff told us the registeredmanager was approachable and supportive and felt valued and supported in their roles.
