Dates of assessment: From 5 September 2025 to 19 September 2025. Reliance Community Care is a domiciliary care agency supporting people with personal care living in their own homes. This was the first assessment for this service. At the time of this assessment there were 52 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care from the service.

The service demonstrated robust recruitment processes, ensuring staff were well-trained and knowledgeable, particularly in reporting safeguarding concerns. Incidents were thoroughly investigated, with appropriate actions taken to reduce future risks. Staff supported people safely with medication administration and were guided by comprehensive risk assessments tailored to people’s individual needs. The service facilitated access to external healthcare professionals as needed, promoting holistic care. A strong emphasis was placed on empowering people to maintain maximum choice and control over their lives, supported by a clear ethos that values dignity, privacy, and human rights. The care provided was person-centred, reflecting a culture dedicated to high-quality, respectful support. Staff felt supported and valued, and the service maintained effective governance systems that promoted continuous improvement.

 

People's experience of the service

People and their relatives gave consistently positive feedback about the care provided by Reliance Community Care. They described the service as “attentive,” “caring,” and “very professional.” Those receiving care, along with their families, expressed feeling safe and supported, with their needs met by well-trained staff who treated them with dignity and respect.

One person told us, “They are always very respectful,” and praised the staff for being “friendly” and maintaining privacy, saying, “They don’t leave me uncovered during personal cares, they maintain my privacy in everything they do.” Relatives also shared positive experiences, including comments such as, “Reliance went above and beyond to put in extra care when [person] came out of hospital,” and “We feel [person] is very safe with Reliance care workers.” Another relative highlighted the continuity of care, noting, “I have been very pleased with the service, there is continuity of care as [person] gets 1 main care worker, and they have formed a strong bond.”

Relatives also reported feeling confident in knowing who to contact if concerns arose. They described the registered manager as approachable, knowledgeable, and someone who “always goes out of their way to make sure the right care is given” Overall, the feedback reflected a high level of satisfaction with the compassionate, respectful, and reliable care provided by the service.
