Updated 30 March 2026
We carried out this announced on-site focused inspection on 16 April 2026 in response to information of concern that had been shared with us.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Prior to announcing our inspection, the provider had carried out a review of systems and processes and identified some risks and omissions. A newly recruited manager was appointed to prioritise these and was actively implementing new procedures to mitigate them.
The provider should review the processes for infection prevention and control, and ensure staff follow these consistently.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation.
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
The practice is known locally as Meliora Dental, and is in Roundhay, Leeds. They provide NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms, but only 3 were in use. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 9 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, 2 receptionists and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 2 receptionists and the practice manager.
