During a routine inspection
People's privacy and dignity were safeguarded at the practice. All consultations and treatment took place with the doors closed. This meant people could speak with the dentist without being overheard from the office or waiting area.
Appropriate records had been maintained of people's treatment and costs of any further treatment they needed. The practice was equipped to deal with a range of medical emergencies. Staff were trained in resuscitation techniques.
There were policies in place to provide guidance on protecting children and adults from abuse. Staff had undertaken training to enable them to recognise and respond to any concerns about patients' welfare.
There had not been any recruitment of new staff at the practice since the provider registered with the Care Quality Commission. We saw enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks had been undertaken for staff. The dentist's current General Dental Council registration details were displayed in the office.
Records at the practice were accurate and had been kept up to date. We found confidential records were kept secure to prevent unauthorised access to sensitive information.
