All Inspections

5 February 2014

During a routine inspection

During our inspection, we spoke with some of Network Medical LLP's corporate clients (representatives of the clubs and events who hire their services). They told us the service was reliable and the staff were knowledgeable and qualified. They said the service always sent a suitable person with the relevant medical equipment to be able to do the job effectively. One person said: "There's only ever positive feedback about their service." Another person said: "They're really good. Very on the ball and very professional."

From speaking with staff and our review of the service's records, we found that people who use the service received appropriate assessment, examination and treatment. We saw that staff had access to the appropriate medical equipment and drugs to complete their roles effectively. We found that staff were suitably trained in the use of the medical equipment, procedures and drugs they used in their roles.

We saw the service had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service people received. This included audit and satisfaction surveys.

We found the service maintained accurate and appropriate records on people's care and staff recruitment and training. We saw those records were kept securely and could be located promptly when needed.

13, 19 December 2012 and 4 January 2013

During a routine inspection

When we visited Network Medical LLP on 4 and 19 December 2012 and 4 January 2013, we saw a location providing a safe and supportive first aid service to events in the region. No vehicles were used to provide this service.

We were not able to speak to people who received treatment themselves, as by the nature of the service it does not support a regular core of individuals. However, we saw that no complaints had been received by the service and we saw some evidence of compliments and good feedback from event providers.

We saw that good records were kept of people seen at events for first aid, although the quality assurance audit of this was limited at the time of our inspection. However, inadequate records had been kept for the single transportation episode (by air ambulance), undertaken by the provider since registration. On all other occasions, the provider had acted as a broker for other, registered ambulance providers, and this activity did not require to be licensed by the Care Quality Commission.
