Date of the assessment: 11 to 19 May 2026.

NewGenCareGroup (Dorset) is a domiciliary care service providing the regulated activity of personal care. The service was providing care and support to people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of this inspection, there were 4 people using the service; among them 1 person received personal care. This was a planned inspection of all quality statements under the 5 key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. This is the first assessment for this newly registered service.

Effective systems and processes meant people were protected from avoidable harm. There were enough staff, who had the necessary skills and training to provide people with safe care, this included checks to ensure competence. A medicines policy was in place and staff told us they felt well supported regarding medicines management. They told us they had training, and competency checks to make sure they gave medicines safely. They were able to describe how medicines errors or incidents were recorded and followed up, and they knew the procedure to follow if people refused to take their prescribed medication.
Risks to people’s health and wellbeing had been assessed. Safeguarding procedures were in place, and staff knew how to keep people safe. The service learned from accidents, incidents and events.
People had access to health and social care professionals to ensure healthcare needs were met. People were involved in their care and records were person-centred. People’s rights were fully respected, and staff sought consent prior to delivering support.
Governance systems were in place to ensure oversight. Staff had confidence in the registered manager and the director of the service.

People's experience of the service

Updated 29 April 2026

At the time of our assessment the provider supported a single person with their personal care. We requested feedback on care delivery form the person and their relative. They chose not to give us feedback, and we based our judgement on the feedback collected by the provider prior to our assessment.

People had a good experience with the service. People felt safe with the provider and staff. They knew who to speak with if they had concerns. A relative described the staff as “polite and cheerful”. People received kind and supportive care. They were involved in planning their own care and described the registered manager as helpful and responsive when they wanted changes.

The culture was open, and staff and the registered manager strived to provide a service to enable the person to have a fulfilling life. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. People were encouraged to take positive risks, with staff supporting people in line with their risk assessments. For example, a person was supported with regular outings of their choice.
