Our current view of the service

Updated 31 July 2025

We carried out this announced inspection on 12 January 2026

We found the practice had met the regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Myorthodontist Cedar House Worthing is part of Mydentist, a dental group provider. The practice is in Worthing and provides NHS and private orthodontic care and treatment for adults and children and private hygiene treatment.

The practice is accessed via an internal staircase. Patients are advised of access upon contacting the practice and are able to be seen at another of the group’s practices if required. Car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, are available near the practice.

The practice had 3 treatment rooms. Two of these were partitioned and could accommodate 2 patients at the same time as is acceptable for orthodontic appointments. However, the practice minimised the dual use of rooms to enhance the patient experience. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 16 staff, of which there were 2 orthodontists, 4 orthodontic therapists, 5 dental nurses, 1 hygienist, 3 receptionists and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection. Two compliance managers for the company were also present to support staff with the inspection.

People's experience of the service

Updated 31 July 2025

Prior to the inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 7 patients and saw further feedback the practice received through patient satisfaction surveys and online reviews. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Comments included, “amazing”, “impressive treatment”, “wonderful” and “lovely staff, very gentle”.

Findings from patient feedback questionnaires demonstrated that people were positive about the standards of cleanliness. Patients responded positively that they were able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs, they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs.

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
