During a routine inspection
We found people who were able gave valid consent to their examinations and treatment. People were given enough information and advice to make an informed decision. People who were not able to give valid consent were treated appropriately and within legal requirements. People were given safe and effective care and treatment. The dentist was aware of and recorded those things that might affect a person's dental health. People were given good advice about caring for their teeth and gums. Staff at the practice were trained to deal with any medical emergencies that might arise and equipment was available and in good condition.
Staff knew their responsibilities in keeping vulnerable people safe from abuse. The practice was clean and instruments decontaminated safely and to essential quality standards. The practice ensured people were cared for by staff who were skilled, qualified and fit to work. There was a comprehensive and appropriate complaints policy.
