Our current view of the service

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 8 July 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice is in Coventry and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 7 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 24 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 1 foundation dentist, 6 dental nurses, including the practice manager, assistant practice manager and a treatment co-ordinator, 7 trainee dental nurses, 2 dental hygienists and 3 receptionists. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the assistant manager.
The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 3 patients. On the day of our inspection, we received patient feedback from a further 5 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included, “I cannot praise Holbrook Dental Care enough for their incredible service,” and “[clinician] was incredibly friendly and calming as I was very nervous about having my filling. She calmy explained my procedure and did a great job. It’s so discreet and I didn’t feel hardly any pain. All around a great experience.”
“I have visited this dental clinic on numerous occasions, and every experience has been outstanding. From the moment you walk through the door, you are made to feel welcome by the friendly and professional team. The dentists and staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure I receive the highest standard of care, always taking the time to listen to my concerns and meet my individual needs.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. One patient told us, “Even though they were heavily booked out with patients, the reception team was incredibly understanding and managed to fit me in for an appointment the very next morning. The dentist was fantastic and performed the extraction quickly and professionally. It has now been two days since the procedure, and I am feeling so much relief with hardly any pain whatsoever. Well done to all the staff and the dentist for your amazing care and for accommodating me at such short notice. You really saved the day.”
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care.
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients told us that they were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
