At the inspection on 22 July 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:

Emergency medical equipment was available in line with recognised guidance. There were effective systems in place to ensure medical emergency equipment and medicines were available and had not exceeded their expiry date.

The practice had systems for appropriate and secure storage of prescription pads. Improvements were recommended for the tracking system used to reduce the risk of prescription theft or misuse.

A fire safety risk assessment had been carried out by an external company and recommendations had been addressed. Systems were in place for the monitoring and recording of fire detection and suppression equipment.

Recommendations in the Electrical Installation Condition Report had been addressed.

We saw records to demonstrate the servicing and maintenance of X-ray equipment.

The practice had also made further improvements:

Safe and effective staffing

At the inspection on 22 July 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:

The practice had systems and processes for learning, quality assurance and continuous improvement. This included undertaking audits according to recognised guidance.  

The practice had introduced a ‘Was Not Brought’ procedure to protect children or vulnerable adults if not brought to their appointment by their parent, guardian or carer. A comprehensive safeguarding policy was introduced to the practice.

 

Infection prevention and control

At the inspection on 22 July 2025, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations:

The practice had procedures to reduce the risk of Legionella, or other bacteria, developing in water systems. Testing of hot and cold water temperatures were carried out and recorded in line with guidance.

Effective cleaning schedules had been implemented.

The damaged flooring found in 1 treatment room had been replaced.

Infection prevention and control audits were carried out in line with current guidance.
