During an inspection looking at part of the service

This was a follow-up inspection to the inspection we completed in October 2012, in which we identified concerns in relation to the pre-employment checks conducted on staff at the practice. As a result, we did not need to speak to people who used the service during this inspection.

Following our earlier inspection the provider sent us an Action Plan that identified action they would take to address the concerns.

When we visited the practice again we found that the provider had made changes to the recruitment process and policies.

During a routine inspection

People told us that this was a very good practice, they said that all the staff were friendly and helpful and that they were always given time to consider the treatment options available to them. One person told us that staff at the practice were always very calm and this helped them to relax.

Another person told us that they had recently joined the practice and they were very pleased with the treatment. We observed that although the practice was very busy, all the staff were professional, friendly and people were not rushed.

9 February 2012

During a routine inspection

The people we spoke with during our visit told us that they were given sufficient information by staff at the outset of treatment.

They said that staff always allowed time to answer any questions they might have.

One person said that they could telephone the surgery for more information if necessary. They had done so in the past and their questions had always been answered.

People described it as a welcoming practice and said that in their experience they had found all the staff there to be friendly and helpful.
