During a routine inspection
People who used the service told us they were provided with good information both about the treatments and the cost of different treatments. People also said that they had realistic expectations of the procedures they were having. One person told us, 'I have been terrified of dentists in the past but I am overcoming it now. They discuss the alternatives before starting the treatment and I was shown the x-ray. I have complete confidence in all the staff, they are fab particularly the dentist. He always explains things really well.'
People spoken with all spoke very highly of the staff team and expressed satisfaction with their treatment and care. Comments included: 'Staff are always obliging, approachable, friendly and professional. There are no problems what so ever. I was very lucky to find such a good dentist and for people like me who are nervous, the dental nurses are absolutely lovely.'
Another person said, 'I am more than pleased, I was in a lot of pain, I tried the emergency service but they could not see me. I rang up and they were brilliant, I was really grateful and they have been great ever since.'
On this occasion we did not speak to people who use the service directly about safeguarding adults or children. However, people we spoke with told us that they felt safe when care and treatment was being delivered. They said they had every confidence in the staff team and were able to discuss their concerns with any of the people working at the dental practice. One person told us, 'I would speak to somebody if I did have any, but I have never had any complaints or concerns at all.'
We noted that the dental practice appeared clean and well maintained. Every person that we spoke with commented favourably on the cleanliness of the practice. One person told us, 'The surgery is always clean and tidy, you get the feeling it has been scrubbed.' Another person said, 'It always feels lovely and clean and tidy when ever you go, and there are always magazines to read in the waiting room.'
