During a routine inspection

We inspected the agency office and spoke on the telephone with three people who used the agency. We also spoke with a relative of a person who used the agency. We found people had been involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. People expressed their views on how they wanted to maintain their independence. Staff we spoke with told us how they supported people in their choices.

We found consent had been obtained from people before care and treatment had been provided. We spoke with one person who used the agency who told us that staff: 'Always do what I want' and 'Would never do anything I did not ask for'. Staff we spoke with told us they respected people's individual choices and decisions.

People were complimentary about the care and support they received. A relative of a person who used the agency said: 'They are a great help'. We spoke with one person who used the agency who said: 'Overall I am very pleased'.

The staffing levels for the agency were sufficient to meet the needs of the people they supported. People told us they received their care and support when they needed it.

The provider had an effective process in place that monitored the quality of the service they provided.

People received information on how to make a complaint if they were not happy with the service. We found that the provider had received complaints and had dealt with them to people's satisfaction.

During a routine inspection

We inspected the agency office and spoke on the telephone with three people who used the agency and two relatives. We also spoke with two members of staff who provided care to people. We found that people were able to express their views and had been involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People were complimentary about the care and support that they received. One person told us, 'They're very good. I've got no complaints.' Another person said, 'I'm as well looked after as the Queen. They're marvellous. I can't fault them.' One of the relatives we spoke with said,' I am more than delighted with them.' This meant that people felt the agency were meeting their individual needs.

We found that people who used the agency were protected from the risk of abuse.

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

The provider had systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received.
