Our view of the service
Date of inspection: 13 January 2026. Rangeford Care – Wadswick Green provides personal care to people living within an assisted living development. The service supports older and younger adults, some of whom have physical disabilities, mental health conditions, sensory impairment or are living with dementia. At the time of our inspection 21 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care.
People received person-centred care from staff who knew them well. Most people received care at their agreed times, and staff supported them with medicines where this formed part of their care plan. Staff understood people’s routines and preferences and promoted their independence.
The service had experienced a period of inconsistency in leadership, which had affected staff morale and contributed to inconsistency in practice. A new manager had recently joined the service and had submitted their application to register with CQC. Staff told us communication and support had already improved, and they felt more confident to raise ideas and issues.
During the inspection we identified concerns about potential inappropriate use of social media.
Leaders acknowledged the service had been through a period of change and described a clear focus on rebuilding staff morale, improving communication and strengthening governance systems. These improvements were at an early stage and were not yet fully embedded. We identified areas where improvements were needed.
