During a routine inspection
We saw plenty of information in the reception area and patients had the information they needed about the dental surgery and the treatments available.
We looked at dental treatment plans and these showed people had been asked to give their consent to the treatment. The plans also showed the treatment options people had been offered. People understood the choices available to them and that they were involved in making decisions about their treatment.
We found effective checks of equipment and monitoring arrangements for infection control. This meant patients received care and treatment in a clean, hygienic and safe environment.
Staff received training and appraisals to ensure they had the skills and knowledge to work safely and to promote their professional development. Staff were not appointed to work at this practice until all the necessary legal checks had been completed.
We found there were systems in place for gathering, recording and evaluating information about the service that ensured people received safe, effective care, support and treatment.
