Good

Updated 19 February 2026

Date of Assessment: 26 February to 23 March 2026. The service is a care home providing care and support to older adults, some of whom are living with dementia.

At the time of our inspection 67 people were living at the home, 5 of whom were receiving respite care and support. At our last inspection of the service we found 3 breaches of regulations. At this inspection we found the provider had taken action to address these.

During the inspection we observed a calm, friendly atmosphere with positive, respectful interactions between staff and people. Staff were visible, approachable and responded promptly to call bells and requests for support. Care was delivered in a person‑centred way, with staff demonstrating good knowledge of people’s individual needs, preferences and routines, including around nutrition, emotional support and medicines administration.

The premises were well maintained, and where potential environmental risks were identified by inspectors, these were escalated and addressed promptly on the day with further actions taking place to ensure there was no recurrence.

Staff were safely recruited, received regular supervision, and told us they had access to the training they needed. The provider had carried out competency checks to ensure staff were able to carry out complex care tasks, Staff told us they received the information they required to undertake their roles.

Medicines were managed safely and professionally, and infection prevention and control practices were consistently followed, contributing to a clean and hygienic environment. Safeguarding concerns had been reported to the relevant local authority and the CQC as required and the provider had addressed any concerns appropriately in ensuring people’s ongoing safety.

People’s care plans and risk assessments were person-centred and contained detailed guidance for staff to manage care tasks safely. People and relatives consistently told us they felt safe, well cared for and listened to. Staff members spoke positively about their work and were knowledgeable about the needs of the people they supported.

Overall, the service was well organised, with a positive culture focused on kindness, safety and dignity. Managers and senior staff members were responsive in addressing issues and supporting continuous improvement.
