Date of Assessment: 26 February 2026. Cleadon Ear Care is an independent healthcare service providing private ear treatment. It is a clinic owned and operated by a lone practitioner, with no additional staff employed. This was the first inspection of the service since it registered with CQC.

The service had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Incidents were investigated thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. The provider understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were clean and well maintained, and any risks were mitigated. The provider had completed all relevant training to ensure they maintained high-quality care to the services provided.

People were involved in assessments of their needs. The provider reviewed assessments taking account of people’s communication, personal and health needs. Care was based on the latest evidence and good practice. The provider worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving between services. The provider made sure people understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent.

People were treated with kindness and compassion. The provider protected the patient’s privacy and dignity. They treated them as individuals and supported their preferences. People had choices in their care and treatment.

People were involved in decisions about their care. The service provided information people could understand. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it. People received fair and equal care and treatment. The service worked to reduce health and care inequalities through training and feedback. People were involved in planning their care and understood options such as whether to be seen at home or at the clinic.

The provider’s vision and culture were based on listening, learning and trust. The provider worked with the local community to deliver the best possible care and were receptive to new ideas. There was a culture of continuous improvement.

People described very positive experiences of the service. They described the practitioner as friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They also mentioned that the environment was clean and welcoming. Overall, they reported receiving a supportive service.
