Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 30 October 2025

Date of assessment 12 November 2025 to 28 November 2025. This is the service's first inspection since a change of provider on 4 November 2024. We completed a comprehensive inspection, looking at 33 quality statements.

The service is a care home which supports up to 8 people with learning disabilities. At the time of the inspection there were 7 people living at the service. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.

There were enough staff to meet people’s needs and to enable the delivery of person-centred care, and people were supported by a staff team who knew them well. People were supported to access the community to attend a range of activities in line with their needs and preferences. The service was clean and well maintained.

People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff provided them with care in the least restrictive way possible and acted in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service promoted this practice.

People’s care plans were detailed and included information about people’s likes, dislikes, and backgrounds. Staff knew people well and escalated concerns to relevant professionals in a timely way. Staff had been recruited safely and received training appropriate to their role. The service had inclusive leaders who supported staff to deliver high quality care. We received positive feedback from all staff and healthcare partners who worked with the service.

People's experience of the service

Updated 30 October 2025

Some people could not directly tell us about their experience. We used observations of care to observe whether they received good care. This approach showed people were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity, and we saw staffing levels met people’s needs. We observed people smiling and laughing with staff and engaging in meaningful activities. We also received some feedback from people’s relatives. Relatives were happy with the service and felt staff knew people well. Comments included, “I am very impressed with the care” and “I have 100% faith in the staff”. Relatives told us how they were always kept informed about any changes to their relative’s health or any concerns. However, one relative felt there was a language barrier with some staff and told us, “[Person] gets frustrated as she can’t understand them”.
