During an assessment under our new approach
Bridge House is a care home providing accommodation for nursing or personal care, to people with a learning disability and/or autistic people. Dates of inspection were 4 March to 16 March 2026.
At the time of the assessment there were 3 people living at the service; however, not everyone who used this service received personal care. For care homes, CQC only inspects where people receive help with personal care. This is to support people with tasks relating to eating and personal hygiene. At the time of this assessment only 2 people living at Bridge House were receiving personal care.
We assessed the service against 'right support, right care, right culture' guidance to make judgements about whether the service treated people with a learning disability and autistic people with respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and provided good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
People were encouraged and supported to learn skills to promote independence, such as cooking their own meals, understanding food safety, cleaning their rooms and doing their laundry.
Support plans were person-centred and clearly detailed people’s preferences, strengths and aspirations. Staff understood people’s needs and provided support to enable them to reach personal goals.
Leaders promoted a positive culture based on transparency, equity and human rights. Staff were recruited safely and told us they felt supported in their roles, with access to supervision, training and ongoing guidance from the leaders.
