Marjorie House is registered to provide care and support for up to 50 people. The service provides residential care for older people, some of whom are living with dementia. This was the first inspection for the service since their registration; therefore we included all the quality statements under each of the 5 key questions. The inspection took place on the 6 January and 7 January 2026. At the time of this inspection, there were 20 people living at the service. Systems and processes meant people were protected from avoidable harm. Recruitment and induction procedures were robust. People received their medicines as prescribed, and processes for ensuring safe monitoring of medicines were in place. People’s rights were respected, and they were supported to make choices. A blended training programme meant staff had the necessary skills and knowledge to provide care. Safeguarding procedures were in place. The service learned from accidents, incidents and events. People had access to health and social care professionals to ensure their wellbeing. People’s rights were fully respected, and consent was sought. Staff were kind and caring, treating people with dignity, respect and were passionate about their roles. People enjoyed a healthy well-balanced diet. Feedback was sought from everyone and used to shape the service. Partnership working and links were made, and the service was passionate about working within their local community and charitable efforts. Governance systems were in place to ensure oversight, including at provider level. There was confidence in the registered manager and management team. The registered manager and provider told us they were passionate about providing the best level of care possible.

People and their relatives told us Marjorie House was a safe place to be. People were complimentary about being part of the service, they told us staff were kind and caring. We were told people felt they could communicate easily with the management and staff of the home if they had any concerns. People received their medicines as prescribed. People said they enjoyed the food and drinks on offer. Relatives and visitors to the home were complimentary about the staff team and the variety of activities their loved one could participate in. People’s rights were respected, their individuality supported, and they were treated with dignity and respect. People and their relatives had confidence in the management of the service and told us they were accessible and approachable.
