During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 29 August 2025.
We found the practice had met all regulations.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Southwark Urgent Dental Care is part of Malmin Orthodontic Group Limited, a dental group provider. The practice is in the London Borough of Southwark. The practice provides urgent NHS dental care and treatment for adults and children between the hours of 10am and 9pm on Mondays to Saturdays.
There was step-free access to the practice. Car parking spaces were available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice. The practice is located close to public transport links.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms, 2 of which were in use.At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 7 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 2 dental nurses, of which 1 was a trainee, 1 receptionist. and a practice manager.
We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentists, 1 dental nurse, 1 receptionists and the practice manager. We also spoke with the groups area manager and compliance manager.
