During an assessment under our new approach
Sandrock Nursing Home provides accommodation for up to 28 people who require nursing or personal care. At the time of our inspection 3 people lived in the home. This is the first assessment for this service under a new provider. At this assessment we found the provider was in breach of 3 legal regulations in relation to premises and environment, safe care and treatment and good governance. At the time of our assessment there was no registered manager in post. At this assessment, the provider neglected the premises people lived in placing them at risk. The governance systems in place were not effective in identifying areas for improvement and taking action to improve the service. Staff lacked the support from the management team who in addition lacked understanding of their role and the principles of providing high-quality care. Systems in place to monitor the quality of the service were not always in place.
In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
