During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 21 April 2026.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control. However, improvements were required to ensure that fire risk assessments are undertaken regularly going forward.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures broadly reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Golders Green, in the London Borough of Barnet, and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The practice was located on the first floor of a high-street building and was not accessible to wheelchair users. Patients were informed of this when contacting the practice and were signposted to a nearby practice that was accessible to wheelchair users. Off-street parking and public transport services were available near the practice.

The practice had 1 treatment room. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 2 staff, of which there was the principal dentist and a dental nurse. We spoke to both staff members during our inspection.

During a routine inspection

We were able to speak with patients during the inspection. They confirmed that their privacy and dignity were respected by the dentist. One patient we spoke with told us 'they are always nice to me, very respectful.'

A full dental examination was carried out on each patient and records were kept of findings and treatment plans. Patients confirmed they had been asked about their medical history. We saw that any minor risks associated with treatment had been discussed fully with the patient before treatment commenced. One patient we spoke with told us 'he explained the whole thing to me.' Another patient told us 'he always tells me what's happening.'

Patient records were being updated after each patient was seen by the dentist to ensure these records were accurate and fit for purpose.

People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. We saw that the dentist and dental nurses had undertaken training in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.

All patients we spoke with told us that the premises were always clean and hygienic. We noted that all areas of the practice were clean and tidy on the day of our inspection. One patient we spoke with said 'it's an old building but it's always neat and clean.' Regular audits were being undertaken in order to monitor infection control at the practice.
