All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 17 June 2026.

We found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures were in place and these reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

The practice is in Sutton Coldfield and provides private orthodontic care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 1 treatment room. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 4 staff, of which there was 1 specialist orthodontist, 2 dental nurses, (including 1 who was also the practice manager) and the receptionist/administration/IT manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the specialist orthodontist, the practice manager/dental nurse, and the receptionist/administration/IT manager.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three patients, a parent of one patient and three members of staff. We reviewed three patient's records and saw records relating to three members of staff.

All of the patients spoke highly of the staff, the information they received, and the quality of care and treatment. They told us that they had been given information about different treatment options which helped them to make an informed decision. One patient said; "I am very happy with my treatment', and another patient said, 'The orthodontist explained the impact of each treatment option and what the end result should be, but the choice was always mine'.

All of the patients were very happy with the cleanliness of the practice and confirmed that staff wore uniforms and other protective clothing. One patient described the clinic as, 'Spotless'. We found that procedures were in place to minimise the risk of infection.

Staff were supported with their ongoing professional development and received training relevant to their role. This helped to ensure staff had the skills to deliver safe and appropriate care.

Effective procedures were in place to assess and monitor the quality of service that patients received, and included seeking the views of patients.
