During an assessment under our new approach

Date of Assessment: 3 July 2025 to 15 August 2025. RPM Health Clinic Warwick is an independent provider of medical services. This is the first assessment of the provider since they were registered with CQC on 24 May 2023. This assessment was initially a focused assessment in response to information of concern we had received. The scope of the assessment expanded to a comprehensive assessment which meant we assessed all quality statements under each of the 5 key questions.
The provider is registered with CQC to deliver Regulated Activities, treatment of disease, disorder or injury, surgical procedures and diagnostic and screening procedures. The provider offers specialist services from this location including general practice, minor illness dermatology, weight management, allergy treatment, hormone treatment for men and aesthetic procedures. The service provides a broad range of aesthetic services, some of which are not regulated by CQC. This report only refers to those services which are regulated by CQC. Services at this location are delivered by a team of 2 advanced clinical practitioners and a GP. The provider is registered to provide regulated activities to the whole population, which includes children. The provider offers online and face to face consultations.
The provider had a learning culture and people could raise concerns. Staff understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment were clean and well-maintained and mostly, risks were mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience.
We identified concerns with the prescribing of high-risk medicines used to treat acne which included a lack of appropriate monitoring. When we discussed these with the provider, they took prompt action and made the decision to cease the prescribing this medicine.
We found people were involved in assessments of their needs. Staff reviewed assessments taking account of people’s communication, personal and health needs. However, care was not always based on latest evidence and good practice.
Where we raised concerns with the provider during the course of our assessment, the provider listened and took action in response to our concerns. During the course of the assessment, they provided information and assurances that risks were appropriately mitigated.
People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected people’s privacy and dignity and treated them as individuals, supporting their preferences. People had choice in their care and treatment. The service supported staff wellbeing.
People were involved in decisions about their care. The provider provided information people could understand. People could provide feedback or ask questions via the direct messaging app and staff responded in a timely manner. The service was easy to access, and people received fair and equal care and treatment.
Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture to provide safe, personalised, and accessible private healthcare delivered with compassion and integrity. Leaders were visible and supportive. However, the provider had not embedded clinical audit within the service to monitor and improve outcomes for people. Leaders did not have complete oversight of the management of clinical risks and had not implemented an appropriate system of clinical supervision for some of the more complex services they offered. Staff felt supported to give feedback and were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities.
We found breaches of regulation in relation to good governance. The breaches related to a lack of clear, supervised clinical pathways agreed with specialist departments within local NHS organisations, infection prevention and control, the clinical environment and clinical risk management.
