During an assessment of Surgery
The assessment was completed in line with our routine assessment priorities. We assessed 33 quality statements for the 5 key questions: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
This is the first assessment of the services. At this assessment we rated the service as good.
People were protected from abuse and improper treatment. The service investigated incidents and shared learning. There were processes for staff to speak up and raise concerns. Medicines were managed well. The service assessed people’s needs and staff worked together to care for people. Staff treated people with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. Staff treated patients as individuals and supported their preferences. Staff made sure patients understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. Patients were involved in decisions about their care. The service was consistently managed and well-led.
