During an assessment under our new approach
Date of inspection: 13 August 2025 – 26 August 2025. Kope- Medics is a care at home service providing support to children aged 0 – 18 years, adults over 65 years and people living with learning disabilities and/or autistic people and mental health conditions. The service provides nursing care and focuses on supporting children with complex care needs in the community. At the time of the inspection there were 21 people using the service. This is the first inspection of Kope-Medics since the service moved address. At this inspection the service has been rated good.
We assessed the service against ‘right support, right care, right culture guidance to make judgements whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability or autistic people, respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
The service had enough staff employed to keep people safe. Pre-employment checks for staff were completed. Staff received an induction at the beginning of their employment, as well as regular training and appraisals throughout their employment. The service had a skills workshop which staff could use to book training courses they thought were relevant to their delivery of care and support to people. The provider had a strong culture of staff development and were proactive in supporting staff with training courses to aid their progression and development.
People had care plans and risk assessments in place which documented their care needs. Some care plans had small typo errors, or not enough information to show how to support people fully with their care needs. These were pointed out to the management team and care plans were quickly corrected and updated during the inspection process.
The service had a range of policies and procedures in place for staff to follow to work towards keeping people safe and keeping the service running smoothly.
