Our view of the service

We carried out this unannounced inspection on 11 April 2025.

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

Infection control procedures did not follow published guidance.

Recruitment procedures broadly reflected current legislation, however improvements were needed to ensure that persons providing the care and treatment to patients had the qualifications, competence, skills and experience to do so safely.

Improvements were needed to ensure the practice maintained accurate and detailed records of care provided to patients.

There was ineffective leadership and a lack of internal scrutiny of the systems and processes in place to provide care and services to patients.

The practice had systems to identify and manage risks associated with fire, Legionella and the use of hazardous substances. Improvements were needed to the management of risks associated with the premises and equipment.

Due to the unannounced nature of the on-site visit, we were unable to gather sufficient evidence to report on the key questions of Caring and Responsive.

The practice is in South Ealing, in the London Borough of Ealing, and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available near the practice.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 11 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 3 trainee dental nurses, 1 dental therapist, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 2 trainee dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.

The provider was not complying with 2 regulations. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the inspection findings below.

In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
