During an assessment under our new approach

Date of assessment 7 August 2026.

Lago Home Care is a domiciliary care service providing personal and social care to people living in their own home. We undertook this inspection because this is a new service which had not received a quality rating. At the time of our inspection, there were 18 people receiving a regulated activity. CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with ‘personal care’; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to ‘Right support, right care, right culture’.

People received care and support that was safe, effective and personalised to their assessed needs. There were sufficient numbers of staff to meet people's needs, and people benefited from support delivered by a consistent staff team who knew them well. People and their relatives spoke positively about the quality of care provided, describing staff as caring and knowledgeable. Care plans were regularly reviewed to ensure they remained reflective of people's needs, preferences and desired outcomes.

The service was well-led by a management team that promoted a clear vision centred on delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Effective governance systems were in place to oversee the quality and safety of the service. Accidents, incidents, and safeguarding concerns were reviewed to promote safety and ensure timely and appropriate action. People using the service were also given opportunities to provide feedback.
