Inspection carried out on 24 June 2013

During a routine inspection

People's needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. The four people we spoke with told us they were very happy with the care and treatment they received, they never felt rushed and their appointments were on time. They said they were given the opportunity to discuss their treatment with the dentist and make their own decisions. One person told us, Ive had tons of treatment, they are marvellous here, they listen to you and whatever the problem is they sort it out.

We found the practice was clean and arrangements had been made to reduce the risk of infection. People we spoke with told us the practice was clean and staff always wore protective clothing when treating them. One person said, Theyve made lots of improvements to the surgery; Ive no qualms about the hygiene conditions and standards of cleaning at this surgery.

Staff had accessed various training so they could meet peoples needs and maintain their qualifications. Patients were very complimentary about the staff. They said the staff were friendly, easy to speak to and always helpful. One person told us, All the staff here are lovely and kind, they are an excellent team.

The practice had systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of service provided. People told us they had no concerns with the quality of care and treatment they received. Patient survey results suggested high levels of satisfaction with the practice.
