Overall service commentary
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 4 December 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice is in Nottingham and provides NHS and private orthodontic treatment for adults and children.
The practice was located on the top 2 floors of its building and accessed via a staircase. Due to the age and design of the building, the provider was not able to make adaptations to improve accessibility for people with additional mobility needs. The provider had arrangements in place to refer patients unable to access their service, to a service on the ground floor of the same building.
The practice had 1 treatment room with 2 chairs. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 7 staff, of which there were 1 orthodontist, 4 dental nurses, 1 orthodontic therapist and a cleaner. Two of the dental nurses were also the receptionist and practice manager. We gathered feedback and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the orthodontist, 2 dental nurses, the orthodontic therapist, the receptionist and the practice manager.
