During an assessment under our new approach
Date of Assessment: 04 November 2025 to 27 November 2025.
Abi-Support LTD is a domiciliary care agency which provides personal care to people in their own homes, including people living with dementia, people with sensory impairment, and people with physical disabilities. The service was also registered to provide supported living. The service was not providing this support at the time of our inspection, therefore we did not assess it.
At the time of our inspection, 63 people were receiving support with personal care.
An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group.
The provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to safe care and treatment, and good governance.
Care planning documentation did not always contain up to date relevant information. People’s documentation was not always updated following changes to their needs and support. Risk assessments were not always in place, and risk mitigations were not always relevant to the person. Staff we spoke with understood people and their needs well, and escalated concerns appropriately.
Medicines were not always safely managed. Medicine records were not always in place such as medication administration records, and records evidenced people did not always receive medication according to their prescriptions.
Staff received safeguarding training and understood their roles in protecting people from the risk of abuse or avoidable harm. The provider raised safeguarding’s and concerns about people’s needs effectively. They worked with other relevant agencies to investigate and take action where required to keep people safe.
The service carried out governance checks and documented their intended actions. However, there was limited oversight and monitoring of actions to improve the service. Checks carried out had not identify the concerns we found during inspection.
