During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke to three staff; one dentist, one dental nurse and a receptionist. We took evidence from other sources to help us understand the needs and views of the people who used the service, including a patient satisfaction survey, minutes of staff meetings and a review of the surgery's incidents and complaints log. We also spoke to six patients on the day of inspection.

The patients we spoke with told us that they received good dental treatment at this practice. One patient told us 'The dentist is excellent. I know and like the staff very much'. The dental nurse told us "I really do enjoy my job and I think the loyalty of our long term patients means they happy".

We found that the practice was following infection control policies and staff demonstrated that they had a good understanding of infection control procedures. All the staff we interviewed knew their roles in protecting vulnerable adults and children. The practice had systems in place to assess and continually review the service provided and were making improvements where needed.
