During a routine inspection
Patients told us that they were given information about any treatment they might need and were asked for their consent either verbally or in writing before treatment was carried out. One patient commented, 'Yes everything was discussed fully for me to understand and left to my choice but advised on the best treatment to take.'
Patients commented that they thought that the surgery and the equipment used looked clean and some patients had noticed that staff washed their hands before treating them. Patients confirmed that the staff treating them wore protective clothing for example disposable gloves and aprons and they were asked to wear protective goggles and a disposable bib.
Patients thought that there were enough staff available at the practice. We saw that there were enough staff available to ensure the smooth running of the practice and that they spoke to patients in a polite and friendly way. We were told that the staff team was stable and there was a low staff turnover.
Before our visit we contact NHS Bury to check if they had any concerns about the practice in relation to complaints and safeguarding. They confirmed that they did not.
