At the inspection on 29 July 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

The practice identified and managed risks effectively and staff described the processes. This included sharps safety, sepsis awareness and lone working. Health and safety and sharps risk assessments had been completed in March 2026 and now reflected practice protocols.

Staff demonstrated an open culture in relation to people’s safety. They felt confident that risks were well managed at the practice, and this was reflected in our findings.

Staff could now access emergency equipment and medicines that were checked in line with national guidance. They knew how to respond to a medical emergency and had completed training in emergency resuscitation and basic life support every year.

The practice had also made further improvements:

Hazardous substances were clearly labelled and stored safely. Control of Hazardous Substances risk assessments had been carried out since 18 March 2026 and staff now had full access to safety data sheets for all products used at the practice.

The practice managed fire safety well, and fire exits were clear and well signposted. A fire risk assessment had been completed by a competent person on 31 March 2026. Since the risk assessment, the practice had installed emergency lighting and recorded all tests for the smoke alarms, emergency lighting and visual checks for the fire extinguishers. Two members of staff had completed fire safety awareness and fire marshal training since March 2026.

At the inspection on 29 July 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

Staff demonstrated knowledge of safeguarding and were aware of how safeguarding information could be accessed. Staff knew how to escalate safeguarding concerns within the practice and externally. The practice created a new safeguarding policy which contained relevant information to the practice, including phone numbers for local safeguarding teams and details of the safeguarding lead for the practice.

The practice had also made further improvements:

Staff fully understood of their responsibilities regarding the oversight of Was Not Brought within the practice and had created a Was Not Brought protocol for all staff to follow. Was Not Brought is a code for when a child or an adult, who is reliant on another person to get an appointment, has missed their appointment.

At the inspection on 29 July 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulation:

The practice had infection control procedures that reflected published guidance. Foil tests, which test the efficiency and distribution of cavitation in an ultrasonic cleaner, were now completed in line with guidance.

The practice had effective procedures to reduce the risk of Legionella, or other bacteria, developing in water systems, in line with a risk assessment and current guidance. A Legionella risk assessment had been completed by a competent person on 31 March 2026. Since the risk assessment, hot and cold-water temperature checks were now carried out in line with guidance.

The practice had also made further improvements:

Equipment was maintained and serviced in line with manufacturers’ instructions. The practice now completed infection prevention and control audits in line with current guidance.
