Clover House Dental Practice

We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection of Clover House Dental Practice on 21 May 2026. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.

We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Clover House Dental Practice on 3 February 2026. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 15 and17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.

Since our inspection of 3 February 2026 the provider has made the improvements required. These were in relation to risk assessment and management, infection prevention and control, the prescribing, dispensing and management of medicines, registration with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), audits and governance and oversight of systems and processes.

The provider is now compliant with Regulations 15 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 3 February 2026.

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

The practice had systems to identify risks, including infection prevention and control. The provider’s response to identified risks was insufficient, which meant that safety, for example in relation to premises, was compromised.

Staff at practice level had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership at practice level.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Staff did not manage medicines in line with current guidance.

Governance processes in place did not support oversight within the practice.

Clover House Dental Practice is part of Todays Dental Practices Limited a dental group provider. The practice is in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces available near the practice.

The practice had 5 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 20 staff, of which there were 5 dentists, 8 dental nurses, 4 dental hygienists, 1 receptionist, 1 laboratory technician and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 2 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, 1 receptionist, the Clinical Director for Todays Dental Limited Practices, the group compliance lead and the practice manager.

The provider was not complying with Regulations 15 and 17 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Full details of the regulations the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
