During an inspection looking at part of the service

At this follow up inspection, we found that improvements had been made regarding more consistency of recording the consultations with people and the different treatment options available. We spoke with three people using the service who gave us positive feedback about the service. We spoke with two staff members who told us of the changes that had been made regarding the recording process.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who were using the service. Both said they were very happy with the care provided by their dentist.

They said they had decided to register with the practice based on recommendations from other people and were pleased with the care and treatment they had received. They said they would recommend the practice to other people.

Both people said they were involved in decisions about their care, given clear information about the treatment options available to them and gave consent accordingly. All treatment prices were fully explained. One person said they were in the middle of a course of treatment and that they had been well cared for throughout. However, both patients said that the dentist did not always ask them if their medical history had changed.

We also looked at patient satisfaction survey results, which revealed a high rate of satisfaction with the care people received at Cygnet Dental Practice. We observed that staff treated people respectfully and spoke to them politely.
