Updated 12 March 2025
We undertook a follow-up inspection on 18 June 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.
We had previously undertaken an announced inspection of The Fenton Dental Studio on 7 January 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing safe and well-led care and was in breach of regulations 12 (Safe care and treatment) and 17 (Good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had improved systems for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks, including areas such as fire safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), secure storage of waste and the management of medicines and medical emergencies.
There were systems in place to monitor training to ensure appropriate action can be taken quickly when training requirements were not being met.
There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
The practice is in Winchmore Hill, in the London Borough of Enfield and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces were available near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 9 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 2 dental nurses, 2 dental hygienists, 1 receptionist and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the 2 principal dentists and the practice manager, who was also a registered dental nurse.
