Our current view of the service
Updated
21 January 2026
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 29 July 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership.
They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required. Staff provided care and treatment broadly in line with current guidance.
The practice had some systems to identify and manage risks.
The practice is in Lee on The Solent, Hampshire, and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and NHS care and treatment for children.
Step-free access to the practice was enabled by a removeable ramp and car parking spaces available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.
The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 6 staff, of which there were the principal dentist, 3 dental nurses, and 2 dental hygienists. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including the principal dentist, 2 dental nurses and 1 dental hygienist.
People's experience of the service

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We reviewed patient feedback we received, and feedback routinely obtained by the practice. On the day of our inspection, we spoke with patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included:
“I have been a patient of the practice for many years and have never had anything but excellent service throughout those years.”
“I know a number of other patients and I have never heard one single negative comment.”
“Superb”
“The dental work is excellent, I feel that my dental health is their first priority.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. “It was very easy to book an appointment. They rang back when they said they would.”
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “The work required is carefully explained to me.”
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
