Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 11 June 2026

Date of assessment 19 and 30 June 2026.The service is a care home providing support for adults of all ages, people with dementia, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and mental health conditions.

The home was being managed safely and in a way that ensured people were involved in their care and support. Care assessments were detailed and written in a person-centred way.

There were good governance systems in place which enabled the registered manager and the provider to have oversight of the service to identify issues and to plan improvements.

Staff were being recruited safely and in line with current best practice. There was an established staff team who knew people well. Staff attended regular training courses and had all completed the mandatory level 1 training relating to autistic people and people with a learning disability.

Staff were receiving regular supervisions and were able to attend staff meetings.

Staff worked well with other professionals and knew who to contact if they needed specialist support for people.

Some areas of the heating system needed repair. We found radiator thermostatic controllers were stuck and some radiators were rusting. The provider had identified these issues and discussed their plan to make the necessary changes to the heating system.

Medicines were not always being managed safely. These issues were addressed by leaders at the time of the inspection.

People's experience of the service

Updated 11 June 2026

People told us they were happy living in the home and felt they were supported by staff who knew them well. One person said, “staff are lovely” and a relative told us, “Staff are excellent”. People and their relatives said staff were very caring.

Most people told us there were usually enough staff to support them well, although 1 person said the staff are often busy and cannot always stay for a chat. Another person said that occasionally staff take a long time to respond to their bell,

People told us they knew the registered manager and that they had a strong presence in the home. They often saw the registered manager at lunchtime when they checked people were ok.

People could attend activities such as seated exercise. People that could not leave their beds were supported with activities in their room by the activity staff.

People were supported to maintain their important relationships and visitors were welcomed at any time of the day and evening.
