During a routine inspection
They said that they were fully involved in decisions about their care and that everything was explained to them before they decided on a course of treatment. They were always asked to give consent before treatments commenced and were advised of the costs. They said they were made to feel that their views were welcomed.
Although at times they said that it was difficult to get a routine appointment, they said they could always see the dentist if they were in pain.
We found that there was not always evidence that patients had provided consent before treatments were given, and that decontamination records and practices were not up to date. Quality monitoring of the service must be improved.
