Our view of the service
Date of inspection: 2 June to 11 June 2026. Advance Healthcare – Trinity Apartments is registered to provide accommodation and personal care. There are 52 apartments, 25 people were receiving regulated activities at the time of inspection.This inspection was completed because we had not inspected this service since 29 October 2020. Since the last inspection the organisation has changed ownership and there has been a change of registered manager. The inspection covered all 5 key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The service provided consistently good care across all key areas of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Systems and processes were well established and ensured people received safe, person-centred care that met their individual needs and preferences. There was a strong organisational culture focused on safety, continuous learning and improvement, with effective oversight from management and governance systems.
Staff demonstrated a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities and worked collaboratively to deliver high-quality care. Recruitment processes were robust, and staff received appropriate training, supervision and support to ensure they had the skills and knowledge required. Communication within the team was effective, with regular handovers and information sharing systems in place to ensure continuity of care.
Care planning and risk management were comprehensive and personalised, reflecting people’s health needs, preferences and life histories. The provider worked in partnership with health and social care professionals to ensure coordinated and seamless care, particularly during transitions between services.
There was a strong emphasis on promoting independence, choice and control, enabling people to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety. Governance systems, including audits and quality monitoring processes, were effective in identifying areas for improvement and driving positive outcomes.
Leadership was visible, supportive and approachable, fostering an open and inclusive culture where staff felt valued and able to raise concerns. Overall, the service was well managed, forward-thinking and committed to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care.
People's experience of this service
People using the service spoke positively about their experiences and consistently reported feeling safe, supported and well cared for. Many described the environment as secure and reassuring, with some noting they had not realised how unsafe they had previously felt until moving to the service.
People told us staff were kind, respectful and attentive, and that they had developed positive relationships with them. They felt listened to and involved in decisions about their care and support. Staff took the time to understand individuals’ preferences, routines and personal histories, which helped to ensure care was tailored and person-centred.
People were encouraged to maintain their independence and make choices about their daily lives, including what they ate, wore and how they spent their time. Opportunities were available for social interaction and community involvement, and people were supported to participate in activities that mattered to them.
Feedback from relatives was also positive, with comments highlighting good communication and reassurance that their loved ones were safe and well supported. People felt confident raising concerns and knew how to do so, although most reported they had not needed to make complaints. One relative told us, “[Name] is very helpful, can’t speak high enough of how the care management works here. We’ve been able to get care and other things since coming here.”
The service was responsive to people’s needs, with staff acting promptly when support was requested. Call systems were effective, and staff were available to respond to both routine and urgent needs. People also described positive experiences accessing external healthcare services, with support from staff when required.
Overall, people experienced care that was compassionate, respectful and responsive, and which promoted their wellbeing, independence and quality of life.
