Date of inspection:15 July to the 24 July 2026.

JDW Care Ltd is a home care agency providing care and support to people living in their own homes. The service is registered to care for adults over 65 years and under 65 years, dementia and physical disabilities. At the time of our inspection, there were 15 people receiving the regulated activity of personal care. We visited the registered office on 15 July 2026.This was the service’s first inspection since they registered with CQC.

People were protected from the risk of abuse and harm by staff who understood their safeguarding responsibilities and had received appropriate training. The provider maintained safe environments and ensured staff had access to the personal protective equipment (PPE) required to carry out their roles safely. Medications were managed safely.

People received safe and consistent support from staff who knew them well and understood their individual needs. Staff treated people with dignity and respect, recognising them as individuals and offering meaningful choice and control over their care. People’s protected characteristics were considered, and staff demonstrated an understanding of their preferences, values and wishes, ensuring care was delivered in a way that respected their identity and promoted equality.

Care plans were person-centred and reflected people’s individual needs, preferences and choices about how they wished to receive their care and support. The provider involved people in planning and reviewing their care and treatment, ensuring support was tailored to what mattered most to them and reflected their desired outcomes. While no one was receiving end-of-life care at the time of the assessment, the provider had begun to strengthen its approach to advance care planning by exploring people’s wishes and preferences for their future end-of-life care.

Effective governance arrangements supported the delivery of safe, person-centred care. These included regular audits, quality assurance reviews and opportunities for people, relatives and staff to share feedback. Managers were approachable and engaged, promoting a culture of openness, continuous improvement and responsiveness to feedback.
