During a routine inspection

People using the service told us they were satisfied with the care and support provided by Eldercare home care agency. One person said, 'They do a good job, they're lovely.' Another person said, 'I don't know where I'd be without them.'

We found that procedures and appropriate training were in place for members of staff to assist people to take their medication.

We noted that training for all members of staff was encouraged in order to ensure they had the skills and knowledge to provide safe and effective care for people using the service.

We saw that systems were in place to monitor the quality of the service provided. There was evidence to demonstrate that people were regularly consulted about the care and support provided by the agency.

During a routine inspection

Suitable arrangements had been made to involve people who used Eldercare and people had been provided with information about the service. However one person told us that there have been lots of changes with the agency and they found out about the changes from their relative.

People's care was planned and delivered in accordance with their needs. People had individual care plans which were supported by a series of risk assessments.

We found staff had received training on safeguarding vulnerable adults and had access to policies and procedures.

Staff were not fully supported because they had not received appropriate supervision or appraisals.

Suitable policies and procedures were in place to ensure that any complaints about the service were acted upon in a timely manner and contact numbers had been provided to people using the service should they need to contact someone in an emergency.
