During a routine inspection

We saw that Red Lea Dental Practice provided care that included informed patient consent and clinical assessment that led to appropriate planning of dental care and interventions. Effective systems were in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people who used the service and others. We found that infection control procedures were in place to ensure patients were protected from the risk of infection.

Staff received appropriate training and support to carry out their roles. One of the dental nurses described the environment as "uplifting." Another member of staff said "I am happy working here."

Patient survey results suggested high levels of satisfaction with the practice, and there was evidence that patient views and suggestions were sought regularly and considered. People told us that they were very pleased with the treatment they received. One person said "It couldn't be better."

We found arrangements were in place for people who needed additional assistance, which included a ground floor surgery for physically disabled people.
