People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We reviewed patient feedback we received, and feedback routinely obtained by the practice. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included, “It’s a lovely clean and welcoming surgery. The ladies on reception always greet you with a smile. I have never been made to wait longer than 5 mins and then they were very apologetic. [Clinician] is my dentist. I find him very engaging; he explains my treatment and what I may need. I always get a scale and polish at every visit and a thorough check up. I do prefer to have treatment without any injections and he is very gentle. I can’t rate this dentist highly enough. He has helped me conquer my fear of dentists. The young ladies also put you at ease. In truth it’s a lovely place to visit and I have no anxiety visiting the dentist anymore.”
Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Comments included, “Changed dental practice due to moving and have been overwhelmed with how good the care and just the overall quality of the practice is. The staff are very friendly, taking the time to explain procedures to me and nothing is ever an issue. The practice itself is always immaculately clean and is not only a nice place to be, but feel calm and confident knowing it’s clean and tidy. Similarly, the staff too are always tidy and well presented. From the ladies on reception to the dentist as well, all are always very well presented.”
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Comments included, “The reception staff are all very friendly and polite and always happy to help. No call waiting or having to queue when I telephone the practice. For emergency appointments I’m always seen on the same day. The dentist always explains what work is required and my options.”
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
Patients were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
