Great Oaks is registered to provide care, nursing and support for up to 80 people. The home provides residential and nursing care for older adults, some of whom are living with dementia. At the time of this assessment, there were 59 people living at the service. This was the first inspection of the key questions, effective, caring and responsive since the service registered with CQC, therefore we included all the quality statements under the 3 key questions. The inspection took place between 10 July and 11 July 2025. People’s needs were assessed and staff understood how to support them with compassion and dignity. People had access to a wide range of health and social care professionals to ensure their physical and mental health needs were supported. Independence was promoted and people were offered choices in all aspects of their care. People were supported to live healthy lives, and this had included nutritious meals, monitoring of fluid intake and exercise. Staff told us they were passionate about supporting people and ensuring they lived their best lives at Great Oaks. People’s needs were assessed, and care was person centred, this included planning for their future. A dedicated team supported people to access activities and hobbies which they enjoyed. The service provided numerous ways for people to raise concerns and give feedback. People’s differences were appreciated and policies and procedures within the service meant people were given equal opportunities.
