During an inspection looking at part of the service

We looked around the practice and saw that appropriate steps had been taken to comply with infection control guidance.

We spoke with three members of staff who explained how they managed clinical waste within the practice.

During a routine inspection

We saw that the practice actively sought patient feedback through patient surveys and a comments box in reception. However, the provider may find it useful to note that these methods had not been successful and further promotion may encourage additional feedback.

We spoke with two people who used the service who told us they were happy with the care they received. Comments included;

'I've been going there for a number of years and the staff and the dentists have been there, it's comforting.'

'I've been going there for over 20 years and never ever had a problem. I've always found them really, really courteous.'

We noted that the practice was clean and tidy; however there were some infection control issues in two of the surgeries and the decontamination area.

We saw that there was a complaints policy in place and the people we spoke with were happy that they could raise a complaint with the practice.
