All Inspections

24 January 2013

During a routine inspection

During our inspection on 24 January 2013 we spoke with three people who were attending the dental practice for treatment. We received positive comments about how they had been made welcome by friendly staff and had been treated with respect at all times. One person said, "Staff have always been polite and friendly to me and my dental treatment has been good". Another person said, "My family all attend the practice and we are all satisfied with the service we have had".

Care plans contained detailed accounts of the care people had received and of the assessments that had been carried out at their initial dental appointment.

We found that children and vulnerable adults were protected by the policies and procedures adopted by the practice to ensure the staff could respond appropriately to any concerns of abuse.

We found that relevant Department of Health infection control guidelines had been adhered to so that people were safe from the risk of cross infection.

One person said, "The dentist has been clean every time I have been here". We found the premises were clean and comfortable. Risk of fire had been reduced by appropriate fire alarms and fire safety equipment available to use in the case of a fire.
